Delayed Obedience

One of the most challenging truths from the Focus series is this: delayed obedience is still disobedience, no matter how careful or spiritual it sounds. In Luke 6:46 and James 1:22, Scripture makes it clear that hearing God’s Word without acting on it creates a gap between belief and obedience. Often, delay doesn’t come from rebellion, it comes from hesitation. We tell ourselves we need more time, more confirmation, or more comfort, when in reality, God has already spoken clearly.
God is patient, but He is also purposeful. Obedience is how we align ourselves with what He’s already doing. Waiting can be holy when God tells us to wait—but delay becomes dangerous when it replaces action.
Action step:
Identify one instruction God has placed on your heart that you’ve been postponing.
Write it down and take one immediate step toward it today, even if it feels small.
As we learn to respond with trust and obedience, we invite you to worship freely in God with us this Sunday at Liberty Worship Christian Center.
