The Lord Is Good In Every Season

Life has a way of changing without warning.

One season can feel full of joy, opportunity, and momentum. The next can bring uncertainty, disappointment, or challenges we never expected.

In good seasons, it's easy to celebrate God's goodness.

In difficult seasons, it can be harder to recognize it.

Yet one of the most powerful truths in Scripture is that God's goodness does not change when our circumstances do.

The Lord is good in every season.

Not just when prayers are answered.

Not just when doors open.

Not just when life makes sense.

God remains good because His character is not dependent on our circumstances.

His goodness is who He is.

Scripture

“The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in Him.” — Nahum 1:7

God's Goodness Is Not Seasonal

Many people mistakenly measure God's goodness by what is happening around them.

When life is going well, they believe God is near.

When life becomes difficult, they begin to wonder where He is.

But Scripture paints a different picture.

God's goodness is not determined by our comfort.

His faithfulness is not dependent on our convenience.

His presence does not disappear when challenges arise.

The same God who walks with us through victory is the same God who walks with us through valleys.

The same God who celebrates our breakthroughs is the same God who comforts us in our struggles.

He does not leave when life gets difficult.

He remains.

Every Season Has A Purpose

None of us enjoy difficult seasons.

We naturally prefer seasons of growth, blessing, and momentum.

But God often does some of His deepest work in the seasons we would never choose for ourselves.

In seasons of waiting, He develops patience.

In seasons of uncertainty, He strengthens trust.

In seasons of hardship, He reveals His faithfulness.

In seasons of growth, He teaches stewardship.

Every season has the potential to draw us closer to Him.

The goal is not simply to survive difficult seasons.

The goal is to encounter God within them.

Because sometimes the greatest testimony is not that God removed the storm.

It's that He remained faithful through it.

God Is Closer Than You Think

One of the enemy's greatest lies is convincing people that God is distant when they need Him most.

But Nahum 1:7 reminds us:

"He is close to those who trust in Him."

Notice what the scripture does not say.

It does not say God is only close when life is easy.

It does not say God is only close when everything is going according to plan.

It says He is close to those who trust Him.

Trust becomes the bridge that keeps us connected to God's presence, even when we don't fully understand what He is doing.

You may not have all the answers.

You may not understand the timing.

You may still be waiting for breakthrough.

But God has not moved.

He is still near.

He is still working.

And He is still good.

The Lord Is Good

Maybe you're walking through a season you didn't expect.

Maybe you're carrying questions you can't answer.

Maybe you're believing God for healing, direction, restoration, or breakthrough.

Take heart.

God's goodness has not changed.

His love has not diminished.

His presence has not left you.

The season may be difficult.

But God is still good.

And because He is good, you can continue trusting Him one step at a time.

Pause + Reflect

  • What season am I currently walking through?

  • Have I been measuring God's goodness by my circumstances?

  • How has God shown His faithfulness to me in previous seasons?

  • What would it look like to trust God more deeply right now?

Action Step (Do This Today)

Take a few moments today and write down three ways God has been faithful to you in the past. Spend time thanking Him for His goodness and reminding yourself that the God who carried you then is still with you now.
